A New Member of the Ranch

I’m not quite ready to write funny yet, so I thought this week would be simply pictorial. Something I can wrap my head around while getting used to being “Home Alone.”

Today, I’d like to show you who came home with me from Broken Knee Spadette’s house on the lake. Somethings are just meant to be, I guess.

Meet Sammy

He’s a wild kitten that took a liking to me at BKS’s house. Sammy’s mostly Siamese (hence the name), is 9 weeks old and weighs 2 pounds. It’s official as I took him to the vet before I came home with him.

After destroying his Styrofoam water and food bowls inside a cat carrier before we even left her house for the 4 1/2 hour ride home, we decided I should just hold him because the cage was really not Sammy’s thing.

Guess what he did? Slept right next to me the whole way there. Kittens must not know they’re supposed to be afraid of the car – make that truck.

Sammy’s done quite a bit of sleeping

The rest of the animals at the Dancing Dog Ranch have been civil, but distant. Chuck especially has turned up his nose at Sammy’s purring advances. No worries – I kept Sammy rubbed to make him happy.

Look what happened today

While Chuck was sleeping, Sammy snuck and and cuddled down. Looks like we’re starting to be a family again.

Spreading laughter throughout the world…one chuckle at a time. God Bless DDM in heaven.
