She’s Back!

First, I’d like to thank each and everyone one of your for your prayers, your support, your donations and your love sent to me after Mom died. I was inspired and grateful for all the support. Nothing is more important that friends. You guys rock.

She’s smiling down on all of us

And especially me, because I got to take a vacation. I can just hear her now. “Lord, honey, I didn’t know how hard that was on you. Take a break. After that, find yourself a good man – just like my imaginary fourth husband.”

So I did what she said. I took a mini-vacation. I’ve been back for over a week, but life has been busy with the Garden Patch and catching up with everyting, so I took a little extra time off from the blog. Forgive me, Erma Bombeck, for I have sinned.

Now – for the first time in over 6 years – I have vacation pictures to share!  Pop some corn, sit down and endure.

I didn’t know I could smile that big

Sunburned shoulders, shade in Texas and sand. What would make me smile so big my teeth didn’t show?

The ocean, why else?

Frankly, Texas beaches aren’t the bluest or the cleanest. But they’ll do in a pinch. A pinch is defined by no vacation in a very long time. Look – beach things: seagulls and waves. And no tar. Lovely.

Fancy Schmancy

Looks idyllic, doesn’t it? Well, nothing is ever as it seems. 25 bucks to rent an umbrella for the day, chairs thrown in. Lovely if it’s the perfect temperature. When it’s 103 with 1,000% humidity, it costs $12.50 an hour because  you only last about 2 hours. Hmm. Guess I grew up a country club cement pond girl.

A serious visitor

This fellow actually thought it was my job at the beach to not only feed him, but serve him as well. Nice try, Bud. I’m on vacation. Pick the next expensive umbrella rental people to haunt. Move it on. No loitering on the beach, please.

After spending some time at the ocean, I headed to town only to discover that I didn’t need to change back into my shorts because even the vendors on the street dress like this.

Glamour Don’t

Wear your shirt on your chest, not your head please. You’re way too young to look like that and, frankly, that’s just too much information.

Tomorrow? Pop another bag of popcorn and see the rest of my vacation pictures.

Spreading laughter throughout the world…one chuckle at a time. God Bless you all!
